A quick beginners course focusing on the basics of bread and how to make a good loaf
This course was born out of a request from a lovely lady who just wanted to make a good loaf of bread. Her husband was a ‘plain eater’ so she didn’t want to know how to make focaccia or anything ‘ower fancy’. Just a plain brown loaf!
On this half day course I will be taking you through the principles of bread making and dispelling some of the myths. We look at different types of flours and different forms of yeast and how to use them.
As well as a wholemeal loaf, you can also choose to make your own type of bread and we will make our dough into some different shapes.
The day includes tea, coffee, light lunch, recipes and as many hints and tips as we can squeeze in.
