Feeding people great food brings me joy!

Whether you need your freezer filled, want an intimate dinner for 2 or a crowd of 20, or have a weeks holiday with friends & would like dinner on the table when you return from a day out.

Here’s what I can do for you as a private chef…

What kind of person hires a Private Chef?

Anyone who doesn’t have the time or want to cook themselves!
Clients have included extended families or groups of friends hiring a large house for a week.
Busy families with demanding jobs or businesses who want to eat well without the stress of having to think about or prepare food.
The image left is afternoon tea produced for clients before they left for a party, north of Inverness.

What kind of food do I make?

Mainly whatever the client wants to eat!
Among other things, it depends on the facilities & equipment available, their likes, dislikes & any dietary requirements.
The buffet on the right was part of a 3 day job providing lunch for around 20 people, served in an apartment suite in central Edinburgh. The brief was Ottolenghi Style Vegetarian Dishes, with no onions or garlic!

Do you cook everything on site?

It depends on the event, menu and the time of service, I often prepare as much as possible at home and add the finishing touches at the venue.

Do you have provide crockery, cutlery & glassware?

I work with what the client has, or crockery etc can be hired in.

Do you have staff to help?

I don’t employ extra staff, there are plenty catering companies that are set up for larger events.
The image left was for a dinner in the Borders, there were staff in house to serve the meal.

Does it matter what kind of cooking facilities or equipment are available?

Cooking facilities and event numbers with influence the menu choices. Whether you have the most up to date induction hob or an ancient AGA, I can make a meal. I do have pieces of equipment that I can bring along to make preparation easier.

How much does it cost?

Cost depends on the job required. It can be an hourly or daily rate, ingredients and mileage are charged at cost.

The image right was a finger buffet for 30 and included soup.

Here’s what clients have said…

Well your ears must have been ringing!!  Everyone really enjoyed the lunch – there were 7 different nationalities and they all said it was the best fresh food they’d had in Scotland! They couldn’t find decent veggie options anywhere.  A great success – very many thanks.

Moira – Private Chef, Fishing Lodge

I am gAGA over Jenny & everything she professionally prepared for us. All with a smile, a giggle at times and with joy. Jenny took time out and even gave the boys some quick kitchen skills & tips! She brought kale from her garden and made the best chips. I can go on and on. Jenny was the highlight of our holiday and we will save her seat at the table.
